I like to think that my Facebook likes are important ones. Meaning that everyone who has liked my page actually wants to because they are interested in my music and not because I asked them to. I don’t hound people to like it (unless a Facebook invite is hounding) I just ask them to. I think there’s a difference. I’m not spamming everyone to press the like button. I’m not posting tons of “soulless” posts saying “Charlie is an amazing musician. You don’t know what you’re missing. Etc, etc, etc…”. I’ve had a few people actually like my page without me inviting them. Without me knowing about them. Those are the kinds of likes I need. Not the ones who like my page just to get me in on their thing. I only like pages on Facebook that I actually like or believe in. And in some small cases, I’m simply supporting a friend. And, to my friends, yes I like those likes too! Everyone needs some support. I don’t people to feel obligated to like my page because those are not “quality likes”.
So I guess what I’m saying is, don’t like my page if you don’t like my music. And, if you do like my music, by all means, like my page!
